Where We Work

Our flagship research program is based in Tasmania, Australia's island state, located south of the mainland. Tasmania has diverse and abundant wildlife, including a unique assemblage of native marsupial carnivores.

Our study sites in northwestern Tasmania: (1) Woolnorth, (2) Wuthering Heights, (3) Blackwater, (4) Sumac Road, (5) Milkshake Hills, (6) Wedge Plains, (7) Dip River, and (8) New Haven.

Most of our field research takes place at eight study sites in northwestern Tasmania, where we conduct ecological and behavioral research on wild Tasmanian devils and spotted-tailed quolls. We have also done research on eastern quolls on Bruny Island, off the southeastern coast of Tasmania. All three species are endangered.
